Richard Clarke is a Barbados Scholarship winner who was awarded the BA in English and French (First Class Honours) by the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill in 1984. As a Commonwealth Scholarship winner (Canada), he went on to receive the MA in English at York University in 1989. At York he won a Canadian SSHRCC award and subsequently completed his PhD at Cave Hill. Dr. Clarke is a Senior Lecturer in Literary Theory in the Department of Language, Linguistics and Literature at Cave Hill, UWI and has served on several occasions as the Coordinator of Graduate Studies and as Coordinator of the Literatures in English programme where he regularly teaches courses in Romantic poetry, The History of Criticism, Modern Critical Theory, and Post-Structuralisms and Post-Colonialisms. He is also the founding editor of Shibboleths: a Journal of Comparative Theory and administrator of PhilWeb Bibliographical Archive: Theoretical Resources Off-and On-Line, which bring together his commitment to open access research and love for philosophy.
